After targeting Fox News host Laura Ingraham, Parkland survivor and gun Nazi David Hogg thought he would go after one of her former colleagues, Bill O’Reilly. However, Hogg vastly underestimated who he was up against, and he was sorely ill-prepared for the brutal karma which followed his little stunt.
Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly knows better than anyone what it’s like to be targeted by the left simply for being an outspoken conservative — he was once the top news anchor at the top network in America before a campaign to smear his character was launched, ultimately costing him his job.
Indeed, there was no one bigger than Bill O’Reilly in terms of network television anchors or conservative commentators. He brought in more viewers than anyone else night after night, he churned out best-selling book after best-selling book, and you would have been hard-pressed to find anyone more respected in his field.
And yet, leftist forces successfully took O’Reilly down the same way they are now trying to destroy the career of Laura Ingraham. This time, they’re using Parkland gun control weasel David Hogg as a prop in their scheme.
“There is no question that if you are a conservative commentator in America, elements on the far left will try to harm you. The Laura Ingraham situation clearly illustrates what is going on,” O’Reilly said Monday in his Message of the Day.
“A few weeks ago, Laura was branded a racist for opining that Lebron James and other athletes should not use their athletic platforms to talk politics. That is an opinion that millions of Americans hold. Now, Ms. Ingraham faces a sponsor boycott for telling an activist anti-gun high school student to stop whining about his college admission woes,” O’Reilly added.
“That tweet was ill-advised and Laura has apologized,” he admitted before dropping this bomb: “But know this: the sponsor boycott is not some spontaneous uprising by companies. It is being directed by powerful, shadowy radical groups who want Laura Ingraham off the air. Same thing happened to me.”
“Tonight on the No Spin News, Bernard Goldberg and I will analyze this intense situation and expose the ‘boycott’ industry,” O’Reilly revealed, noting that he would discuss the issue in further detail during his podcast later that evening.
During an appearance later that day on MSNBC, Hogg mocked O’Reilly, saying, “I’m pretty well lit — I don’t see any shadowy figures behind me. If he sees shadowy figures as corporate America standing by us, okay, I guess. It doesn’t really make sense.”
Former Fox News megastar Bill O’Reilly came out in defense of current Fox host Laura Ingraham as she’s dealing with an exodus of advertisers from her program after she mocked Parkland survivor David Hogg for being rejected by some colleges. Of course, O’Reilly has some experience with an ad boycott — he saw his sponsors flee just before he was fired from Fox News last year.
In a post on his website, O’Reilly claimed that companies weren’t spontaneously dropping their ads but rather this was “being directed by powerful, shadowy radical groups who want Laura Ingraham off the air,” adding the same thing happened to him.
Appearing on MSNBC’s The Last Word Monday night, Hogg told host Lawrence O’Donnell that while he wanted to thank O’Reilly for seeing him as powerful, he didn’t see anyone in the shadows nearby helping him. [Source: Mediaite]
Of course, one needs to look no further than Hogg’s Twitter feed for proof that he sits firmly in the pocket of the powerful leftist machine responsible for targeting O’Reilly and others. For example, Hogg repeatedly redirects his followers to Media Matters:

If you want to help I would suggest contacting 3-4 of these companies. Lets do this

As promised, Bill O’Reilly explained the whole thing via his podcast. “The day after Laura Ingraham tweeted about Mr. Hogg, Media Matters … posted a list of companies that advertise on Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show,” said O’Reilly. “Posted it on their Website and then sent it to David Hogg, who then sent it to all of his adherents the day after OK.”
“Media Matters President Angelo Carusone highlighted Laura’s two biggest sponsors, Liberty Mutual and Behr, and flat out said don’t buy anything from them. All right,” O’Reilly went on. “That’s what he did, then Think Progress, which works in conjunction with Media Matters. All right. They did the same thing, sent out a blast, get in touch with these companies say you’re never gonna buy their products again if they continue to advertise on Laura Ingraham’s show.”
“Now, if companies by their own, on their own decide they don’t want to advertise with not only Laura but me or anybody else fine, but to be threatened, flat out threat Media Matters using this David Hogg, using — the boy is 17 years old — using him to punish people with whom they disagree and they try to get them off the air. That’s the truth. You won’t hear that on CNN or MSNBC or even Fox News,” he concluded.
Chris Pandolfo of Conservative Review echoed what O’Reilly said, writing, “[T]his is not a grassroots effort led by Hogg. Media Matters has a long history of organizing boycotts against conservative media figures like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.”
“Hogg’s age and his victim status as a Parkland survivor are a shield that cowardly Media Matters is hiding behind to obscure its astroturfing. His voice is a sword the organization is taking advantage of to launch an attack on Ingraham (and other conservatives). The media is complicit in this abuse of a child,” added Pandolfo.
Media Matters previously targeted Fox News host Sean Hannity in an attempt to destroy his career. But, unlike the George Soros-funded outfit’s successful 2017 campaign against O’Reilly, its war against Hannity ultimately failed, due in large part to the commentator’s decision to fight back. Hopefully, Laura Ingraham follows suit and comes out on top in this battle. She is a brilliant conservative mind, and we want to see her on the air for years to come!
